WAVERLY, Iowa – Aaron Arment won the 60-meter dash and the men won the 4x400 relay as the Simpson track and field teams opened the indoor track and field season Friday night at the annual Wartburg Relays.
A freshman, Arment helped the Storm go 1-2 in the 60, winning the spring in 7.04 seconds. He finished just ahead of Brad Vogel, who crossed the finish line in 7.13 seconds.
The men's 4x400 won in dramatic fashion, beating Wartburg by .01 seconds in a time of 3:32.03. Wartburg crossed in 3:32.04.
On the women's side, Bayley Fleshner placed second in the long jump with a leap of 4.90 meters. She also took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.59 seconds).
Next up for the Storm is the Central Invitational on Jan. 26.
