Men's tennis gets spring season underway
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Simpson men's tennis team began its spring season over the weekend, falling to Hamline (8-1), St. Scholastica (9-0) and Macalester (8-1).
The Storm (1-3) faced Hamline and St. Scholastica on Saturday. Agaisnt Hamline, Simpson got its lone win from the doubles team of Zach Kusick and Dylan Hogan, who outlasted Jesse Bragg and Ben Ekstein, 8-4.
Simpson closed the weekend against Macalester on Sunday. Peter Reitgraf gave Sipson a thrilling win at No. 3 singles, beating Sam Naden in three sets, 2-6, 7-6 (8-5), 1-0 (11-9).
The Storm travel to Galesburg, Ill. on Saturday, Feb. 16. There, they will face Knox at 9 a.m. and North Central (Ill.) at Noon.
