The Simpson men's tennis team lost a pair of 8-1 decisions against Cornell and Coe in Eastern Iowa on Saturday.
The Storm (3-11, 0-4 Iowa Conference) got off to a good start against the Rams when Adam Summitt and Alex Hook notched an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.
But Simpson couldn't manage another win in the first match of the day despite Summitt taking Ashan DeSilva to a third set at No. 1 singles and Hook dropping a tough 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 match at the No. 2 spot.
Summitt gave Simpson its only win against Coe, coming back for a 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 win over Michael Woolf.
The Storm take the court next on March 31 when they host Minnesota Morris at Buxton Tennis Complex in an 11 a.m. start.
