CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Simpson men's swimming Noah Nelson earned Iowa Conference Performer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Jan. 7, as announced by the league office Monday. It marks the third time he has won the award this season.
Nelson led the Storm men on their trip to Sherman, Texas last week, winning all six individual events in which he swam over two competitions. The Storm swam against Austin College in a dual on Jan. 4 and competed in the Austin College Invitational on Jan. 6.
In the dual, Nelson won the 500 and 1,000 freestyle along with the 200 IM in the Storm's 126-74 loss to Austin. Two days later, he won the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 100 IM while helping the 400 medley relay to a seventh-place finish as the Storm placed fifth at the Austin Invitational.
Nelson previously won the award on Oct. 22 and Nov. 5.
