INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson men's soccer team is receiving votes in the most recent United Soccer Coaches North Region Poll, released Tuesday.
The Storm improved to 10-4-2 on the season with their 1-0 win over Saint Mary's (Minn.) on Wednesday. Last Saturday, Simpson earned a historic 5-2 win over Loras, the No. 7-ranked team in the North Region. The victory snapped a 23-game losing streak against the Duhawks and kept the Storm in the conversation for an American Rivers Conference title.
Simpson is 1-2-1 against teams currently ranked in the North Region. The Storm lost to No. 8 Wisconsin-Superior 2-1 on Sept. 8 and No. 3 Luther 2-1 on Oct. 10 and tied No. 2 Wisconsin-Platteville 0-0 on Oct. 16.
The Storm travel to Winona, Minn. to face St. Mary's in the final non-conference action of the season Wednesday, Oct. 17.
