Filbert finished with 23 points as the Storm (5-6) led from wire-to-wire to finish their trip to Florida with a 2-1 record. After a four-game skid, Simpson has won 3 of 4.
Simpson opened the game on a 9-2 run and never looked back, building a 21-point advantage with 8:15 left in the second half. Filbert's sixth 3-pointer sparked an 8-0 run midway through the second and a short jumper by Tyler Stumbo made it 66-45, putting the game out of reach.
Filbert started hot and stayed hot, going 4-for-5 from beyond the arc in the first half. His seven triples are the most by a Simpson player since 2012. Amsbaugh polished off a solid tournament with seven rebounds and seven assists while going 9-for-12 from the free throw line.
Greenan Sullivan scored 25 points on 10-for-12 shooting to lead the Gyrenes (2-11). Josh Flowers added 23 points.
