Brent Parrott
Title: Asst. Football Coach/Defensive Backs

Brent Parrott is a 1998 graduate from Simpson College. As a two-time All-IIAC player at safety, Parrott helped the Storm to a perfect 10-0 regular season in 1996, while earning American Football Coaches Association All-American First Team honors. Parrott was inducted as a member of the Simpson College Hall of Fame in 2013.

The 2019 Simpson football season will mark Parrott's ninth as an assistant football coach for the Storm. He originally served on Jim Williams staff from 1997-2001, working with both safeties and outside linebackers. In 2002 Parrott moved on to high school football, serving as Hoover High School’s defensive coordinator. From there, he coached at Martensdale-St Marys High School in the same capacity from 2003-2008, later becoming MSTM’s head coach from 2009-2015. In that twelve-year time span, MSTM made the playoffs four times, and developed 13 all-state players.

Parrott returned to the Simpson staff in 2015. In Parrott’s most recent stretch as the safeties coach, he has had six players receive all-conference honors and one receive All-Region recognition.
Coach Parrott is a middle school teacher for Des Moines Public Schools, and currently resides in Indianola with his wife Jaime. They have four children, Madison, Anna, Emma and Connor.
