Klein named IIAC Player of the Week

Iowa Conference Release

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Logan Klein shined in all aspects of the kicking game in Simpson's football opener against Iowa Wesleyan, earning Iowa Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 7.

A senior from Sigourney, Iowa, Klein accounted for 10 points in the Storm's 43-7 win over the Tigers. He made two field goals (25, 29) and went a perfect 4-for-4 in extra point attempts.

Klein also punted twice, averaging 41.5 yards per attempt. Each punt left Iowa Wesleyan starting inside its own 10, including one downed at the 1-yard line that resulted in a safety for the defense.

The award is the third of Klein's career, earning the accolade twice during his junior season in 2013.
