Schmitt honored as A-R-C Position Player of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- For the second time this season, Truman Schmitt has been selected as the American Rivers Conference Baseball Position Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.

The junior went 10-for-20 at the plate in the team's last week of the season to end with a .390 batting clip. Schmitt ended with an impressive 53 hits to sit in fourth in the conference

Simpson finished 13-23, a five-win improvement from 2018. The Storm had a young lineup and started five freshman in both games of the season ending series against Luther and still hit .287 at the plate to finish fifth in the league.

  • Batted .500 in five games with 10 hits, two were doubles and one a triple
  • Went 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the team's 11-5 win over Luther on Friday
  • Finished the year with the third-best batting average in the A-R-C at .390
  • Tied for first with five homers and 14 doubles in the conference
  • Second time this season being named A-R-C Position Player of the Week
